Yellow journalism is an insult to WE THE PEOPLE!! Yellow Journalism has everything to do with promoting sales & profit no matter the situation. Also has to do with blinding us, and keeping us from the truth, and what it is we are entitled to know. But instead we're given what THEY the power corporations want us to hear, know, and believe. The term yellow journalism was established between at the time two newspapers publishing titans in The World, and The Post. A carton dipiction of high class people partaking in upper class activities like golf matches, and dog shows. Main character wore a bright yellow shirt and he was a rough looking, snuggle toothed boy who they called "Yellowkid." As said by the book Mightier than the sword " He was impident, mindless, with a maniac glean in his eye, he came to define the sensationalists journalism that defined the era- the concept of Yellow Journalism. The power of yellow Journalism was the catalist in the Spanish American War. The two papers sent
men to Cuba duringthe outbreak during the Inudstrial Revolutions for hard hitting, up close stories when in fact there was little to report. False stories were produced by both papers. Exciting hard hitting, attractive, "sexy" stories that both papers used to grow their stocks.

"The newspaper is the greatest force in civilization
Under republican government, newspapers from express public opinion
                                               They suggest and control legislation
                                               They declare wars...
                                               The newspapers control the nation
Written by Hearst in his reflection of news media in the Journal

The stories reported with misleading drawings and false headlines which promted the U.S. into war when Maine exploded on Feb 15, 1898 killing 260 sailors. Press put President McKinley in a tough spot, with the press blaming Spain for the attack and demanding that the U.S. strike back. With these fasle stories and accusations of Spain the American people became blood thirsty for war being mislead by yellow journalism. With the entire country ready for war, and McKinley's support dorpping the U.S. engaged in war...
